Smaller Footprint

20ft Standard Container

The 20ft is the smaller of the two standard sizes. Inside, it measures about 19 ft 4 in long, 7 ft 9 in wide and 7 ft 10 in high, and it can be placed in spots a 40ft cannot reach.

It suits a renovation, seasonal equipment, or a business that has outgrown its back room. It needs 110 feet of straight clearance at the drop point.

Common Uses

  • ✓ Keep hand tools, fasteners and protected materials together during an Indianapolis renovation, with a loading aisle left clear beside the doors.
  • ✓ Separate small parts and maintenance supplies from an active Fort Wayne shop floor so the storage plan does not interrupt the work area.
  • ✓ Store dry irrigation fittings, fencing tools and empty harvest supplies beside an Indiana farm equipment yard; put only dry materials inside.
  • ✓ Stage tables, barriers and nonperishable event equipment near Evansville, leaving enough space to open both cargo doors without blocking access.
  • ✓ Use a 20ft unit for a phased household move when the space is needed at the property, checking the placement before you order.

Double the Space

40ft Standard Container

Twice the storage of a 20ft in the same width. The 40ft standard suits contractors, farms and businesses with large equipment or many pallets.

The trade is access. A 40ft needs 130 feet of straight clearance for the tilt-bed to set it down. On a constrained lot, two 20ft units may fit where one 40ft will not.

Common Uses

  • ✓ Stage larger renovation materials near an Indianapolis job while keeping the door end accessible to the crew each morning.
  • ✓ Give a Fort Wayne maintenance operation a long run of shelving for labeled bins, spare components and equipment that is not in daily use.
  • ✓ Organize dry farm implements and replacement parts in the north central counties.
  • ✓ Separate packaged overflow inventory from loading operations in an Evansville commercial yard, keeping the truck path outside the storage footprint.
  • ✓ Store seasonal grounds equipment for an Indiana property after cleaning and drying it, rather than trapping moisture with the stored items.

Most Space

40ft High Cube Container

Same footprint as the standard 40ft, one foot taller: 9 ft 6 in outside and about 8 ft 10 in inside. That foot can help with tall equipment and overhead services, while insulation and a finished floor reduce the available headroom.

The extra foot suits conversions such as offices, bunkhouses, break rooms and workshops. It needs the same clearance as any 40ft: 130 feet of straight run.

Common Uses

  • ✓ Allow additional vertical clearance over stacked supplies in an Indianapolis equipment yard while keeping stacks stable and aisles usable.
  • ✓ Plan taller storage racks for Fort Wayne shop inventory, with rack loading and attachment details reviewed for the intended use.
  • ✓ Keep bulky empty packaging indoors near an Evansville operation without confusing extra height with permission to overload the floor.
  • ✓ When planning an Indiana workshop conversion, reserve interior height for ceiling insulation, finishes and services, and measure the finished interior rather than the outside shell.
  • ✓ Store tall grounds or maintenance equipment after comparing its actual dimensions with the cargo-door opening.

Modified Containers

A modified container starts as a standard steel box and gains the parts you need: doors, windows, insulation, electrical, climate control. The result is a weatherproof structure that can be placed wherever the delivery truck can reach.

Which modifications matter depends on where it will sit. Insulation and ventilation are decided by climate, not preference, so tell us the site and the intended use before the specification is fixed.

Common Uses

  • ✓ Create a secure tool room for an Indianapolis construction project with entry positioned away from the delivery and material staging path.
  • ✓ Plan a maintenance workshop near Fort Wayne around the actual bench, equipment footprint and access route.
  • ✓ Design an Evansville site office with the intended occupancy, cooling and electrical needs identified before ordering the shell.
  • ✓ Arrange a farm storage room with separate zones for clean supplies and frequently used equipment, keeping incompatible materials apart.
  • ✓ Prepare an equipment enclosure for a rural Indiana property only after checking service access, ventilation and the equipment manufacturer requirements.

Refrigerated

Refrigerated (Reefer) Containers

A reefer is a shipping container with a refrigeration unit built into one end, holding anywhere from -25 degrees F to +70 degrees F. The insulation is part of the original build, not added afterwards, which is why it holds temperature the way a retrofitted box cannot.

Available in 20ft and 40ft. It needs a 460V 3-phase connection, or a compatible generator where 3-phase power is not on site. Confirm your power supply before ordering.

Common Uses

  • ✓ Support temperature-controlled holding at an Indianapolis catering or event location after confirming the loading schedule and available power.
  • ✓ Add temporary cold capacity to a Fort Wayne food operation, with temperature monitoring and a contingency plan for power loss.
  • ✓ Plan chilled ingredient storage for an Evansville seasonal operation based on the actual incoming product load.
  • ✓ Provide cold holding for an Indiana grower when the crop, target temperature and airflow needs match the unit being quoted.
  • ✓ Separate temperature-sensitive floral stock from ordinary dry supplies while checking the operating range required throughout the intended season.

Before You Order

Site Preparation and Delivery Clearance

Containers arrive on a tilt-bed truck. Knowing your clearance before the truck is booked is what keeps a delivery from turning into a second trip.

Required Straight Clearance

20ft
110 feet straight clearance
Measured from the drop point in a straight line
40ft
130 feet straight clearance
Standard and high cube both

Also check: at least 10 ft of width, at least 15 ft of driving height and at least 22 ft of height along the entire unloading path, plus the road surface. Gravel and dirt may be workable, but flag steep grades and soft ground before booking.
